SUMMARY

Spread across the village are a series of gallery the host unique contemporary works of art. Using a mix of refurbished homes and free standing contemporary architecture, SANAA created a unique set of simple structures designed as an elegant canvas for each sculptural work. Tickets to the Art House Project are included with the ticket for the Seirensho Art Museum and should not be overlooked.

Included with purchase of a Ticket to the Inujima Seirensho Art Museum (¥2300 / ¥2100 online) Under 15 are FREE. Open from 9am-5pm all days expect Tuesday and Thursday. Check hours in the offseason for closures and restricted hours.

The A-Art House: Yellow Flower Dream by Beatriz Milhazes on Inujima transforms a traditional home into a vibrant, immersive art space. Bold colors, dynamic patterns, and playful forms enliven the interior, creating a joyful dialogue between contemporary art, architecture, and the island’s historic context.

The S-Art House: Contact Lens by Haruka Kojin on Inujima transforms a traditional home into an experiential artwork. Through reflective surfaces, layered light, and subtle interventions, it encourages visitors to perceive familiar spaces in new ways, merging history, perception, and contemporary artistic expression.
