Hiroshi Sambuichi
ABOUT THE ARITST
Hiroshi Sambuichi is a contemporary Japanese architect recognized for designs that respond closely to natural forces such as wind, water, and sunlight. Based in Hiroshima, he often studies local environmental conditions before developing a project, allowing each building to emerge from its specific setting. His work frequently incorporates passive ventilation systems and carefully oriented openings that guide air and light through interior spaces. Notable projects include the Inujima Seirensho Art Museum, where he transformed a former industrial site into a sustainable cultural facility. Sambuichi’s approach emphasizes harmony between architecture and ecology, aiming to create structures that feel integrated with their surroundings rather than imposed upon them
