Glenstone in Potomac, Maryland, is a private contemporary art museum founded by Mitchell and Emily Rales blending architecture, nature, and art. Designed for contemplative experiences, it features minimalist galleries, expansive landscapes, and site-specific installations, emphasizing harmony between artwork, environment, and visitor immersion. Expect to see works from the likes of Andy Goldsworthy, Richard Serra, Matthew Barney, Jean-Michael Basquiat, Joseph Beuys, Louise Bourgeois, Michael Heizer, and John Chamberlain among countless others. The campus has expanded over time, most notably with the Pavilions building designed by Thomas Phifer and Partners, which uses concrete, glass, and water courts to create quiet, light-filled galleries.

FREE, however tickets are required in advance. Tickets are released on the first of every month at 10am.

NOTES:

It’s important to note that while admission is FREE, guests must be 12 years of age or older. Infants are admitted if in a stroller or worn carrier.
