KEITH HARING
ABOUT THE ARITST
Keith Haring was an American artist who emerged in 1980s New York, known for bold line drawings that blended street culture with social commentary. He began by making chalk drawings in subway stations, using empty advertising panels as his canvas. His work features simplified, energetic figures and symbols that communicate themes of movement, unity, and urgency. Haring often addressed issues such as AIDS awareness, inequality, and political power through accessible imagery. He also embraced public art, creating murals and installations in cities around the world. Despite his short career, his visual language became instantly recognizable and continues to influence art, design, and popular culture.
